Unsung Stories of the Civil War

Unsung Stories of the Civil War is aptly named as it tells historic stories of the Civil War most people haven't yet heard.   Bruce Burnside, composer and creator of this stage production weaves together historic slides, narratives by those who experienced the Civil War and songs written in the style of the Civil War era.  ECCO conductor, Ivar Lunde, has taken Bruce Burnside's music and arranged it for the Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra.  This concert on August 22nd will be a unique concert for ECCO as it brings the Civil War narratives, the history, the original Burnside music and combines with the mastery of the Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra.  Many of you probably know Bruce Burnside as he has been a member of the Blue Canvas Orchestra with the Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua for the past 26 years.  Burnside has been a professional musician for more than 35 years, performing all matter of string instruments:  mandolin, banjo, guitar, dulcimer, dobro, etcetera.  In addition, he has toured quite a bit perfoming in blues bands, bluegrass bands and as a solo performer.
